OUR AUXILIARES FOR THIS YEAR
AUXILIARIES
2019/2020
Hello! My name is Jessica and I am from the United
States. I grew up in a small town near New York City and have lived all over
the US, including California, Washington DC, Boston, and most recently,
Colorado. I am currently working on a Master’s Degree studying Public Health.
Science is my favorite subject, but I have a passion for learning new
languages. I have studied French, Italian, Spanish (of course!). and have
started to learn sign language. In my free time I like to go hiking or skiing.
I also enjoy art. Painting is my favorite!
When I came to Spain I was looking to live in a new place, experience a
different culture, and practice Spanish with native speakers. My favorite part
of IES Capellania is working with the students. They are very bright and
intelligent young adults. Learning a new language can be frustrating and scary,
and I enjoy making it fun and simple for them.
Hey! I’m Emma and I’m one of the language assistants
in IES Capellanía. I’m from Kent in the south of England and I live with my
parents. I am also a student and I study Spanish and Linguistics at the
University of Southampton, I am in my third year and will return in September
to finish my degree. I came to Spain to learn and practice my Spanish,
especially my speaking skills and pronunciation (the rolling of the ‘r’ is
proving very difficult)!
When I am not studying, I love to take my dog for a walk in the park and get
some fresh air. I also love to watch movies either at home or at the cinema; my
favourite are the action and romantic comedy movies! In my free time I also
like to go out for coffee or lunch with my friends.
I love working in Alhaurín De la Torre, it is a beautiful town and everyone is
so friendly and welcoming. I enjoy teaching English and helping people to
improve, it makes me so proud to see the impact I can have and seeing the
students enjoy learning English makes my job worthwhile!
